Tetanus boosters

Did you know that you should not wait until that nasty nail prick to get your tetanus booster? Tetanus boosters are now given every 10 years according to guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.

After the 4 to 5 year booster, the next tetanus shot is due around age 15.

Most tetanus vaccines come as dT.

The little ‘d’ stands for the small amount of diphtheria in the vaccine, since the disease has been occurring in small amounts in the adult population.
