Food Matters episode 4

We are seeing increases of many adult diseases in childhood within recent times. High blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and stress just to name a few. So many of these diseases stem from what we eat on a daily basis many of these diseases begin in childhood. Research has shown that children who regularly help prepare and cook meals have healthier diets over time.

Food Matters was developed to help our children, especially teens and tweens make healthier versions of their regular treats.

We recently held our 4th Food Matters: Teens in the kitchen on August 14th, 2024. We had 12 teens and preteens who took part. After a short talk from our dietitian Mweia Elias on the different food groups they should incorporate into their meals, they began their fun and educational session under the guidance of the Frontier Kids Care team.
